Woodrow Wilson’s Wonderful Wednesday Works

June 30, 2010

Has a great name for the Wednesday Alliterations.

-Roger Federer lost today in 4 sets to Tomas Berdych today. It looks as though Rafeal Nadal is the man to beat and BD’s traditional tuesday pick might just be correct.

-No FIFA games today, however Spain beat Portugal 1-0 on a David Villa rebound put back.

Paraguay beat Japan in a penalty shoot out 5-3. The score was 0-0 before the shoot out.

-Woodrow Wilson has nothing to do with this post at all. He just has a good name with 2 W’s.

-The final 8 teams stack up like this:

1. Brazil

2. Spain

3. Argentina

4. Netherlands

5. Germany

6. Uruguay

7. Paraguay

8. Ghana

The games are:

Uruguay vs Ghana, Germany vs Argentina, Brazil vs Netherlands, Spain vs Paraguay

Uruguay vs Argentina, Brazil vs Spain

Argentina vs Brazil

BRAZIL

-Now the first 4 games are all the games being played this week, but the ‘winners’ are just my predictions. Now, not to leave you millions of people bored.. Here is some good ole’ Animals.

Traditional Tuesday Picks

June 30, 2010

A pretty good pick.  No JT, the guy on the left is not the basketball player…

– Last week was a good week for picks as I got 5 out of the 6 correct. The only one that was wrong was the USA-Algeria game that ended in a draw instead of a win.

Now to this weeks picks of pun pilled excitment…

– I believe that South Carolina will win game 2 of the college world series happening now on espn. 1-1 in the bottom of the 10th.

Paul Pierce will resign with the Celtics, as he opted to become a free agent today.

– Serena Williams will win Wimbeldon.

– Rafael Nadal will defeat Federer in Wimbeldon.

Mandela will appear at a World Cup game by next week.

For the random pick..

– Diego Whats his name of Argentina, the coach, will make at least 3 televised fist pumps in their next game.

The Karate Kid’s Trainer’s Monday Night Notes

June 29, 2010

Nope, that’s not a Bonsai tree, or Kid Cudi, however Kid Cudi and a Bonsai tree are below. NOTE: Kid Cudi video does include some explicit language. Just giving a heads up. FOUR. Now onto the notes…

-Brazil dismantled Chile today in a 3-0 blowout. Yeah, go Brazil (ENTHUSIASM)

-Netherlands also beat Slovakia today 2-1. An RD fan of the day named Cooper Van Tatenhove will be happy about that one. Get it? Van Tatenhove is a dutch name and his family of generations ago is from there. Yeah he is pulling for them.

-Nothing else really happened today except I checked Rivals recruiting and like 5 guys in the top 25 have Kentucky on ‘High.’

TOMORROW

-Spain vs Portugal. Huge game. Wow that is going to be a big one. Go Portugal, 3rd favorite team in the World Cup right now behind Brazil and Argentina.

-Paraguay plays Japan. Not really an interesting game except Paraguay is good. Pretty much all South American teams this World Cup have been extremely good.

-Oh yeah, the MUCH anticipated game between the Oakland A’s and the Baltimore Orioles is tomorrow. Just kidding, not even people in Oakland care. Maybe in Baltimore, but they like lacrosse a little better. Anybody care to lax? (video below also)

Really boring, however a war bonsai is a little to graphic.

The O’ Jays’ Monday Morning Notes

June 28, 2010

We are not endorsing this… The song is only in the commercial…

– First, let’s welcome two new viewers, Jacob Porter and Lorin Harris.  One of which will probably not view, but let’s give them a big RD welcome. Also, this day 40 years ago, The O’ Jays released their most famous song (seen below).

Now to the real notes…

– It is believed that Chris Henry died last year to brain damage, according to researchers.

– The Bulls seem to be the leaders in the Lebron James signing, and the Nets seem to be the leaders in the Dwayne Wade signing.  Also, Chris Bosh wants to be with Lebron, now let’s just picture that team for a minute… Automatic championship maybe…

– Manny Paquiao is now a member of congress in the Philippines. That must be pretty intimidating…

– The Yankees scored 6 runs in the ninth inning to defeat the Dodgers.  Way to go Dodgers…

– Now let’s get some soul refreshing, down home songs, from the O’ Jays.

J.A Adande’s Short Sunday Night Record

June 28, 2010

J.A sure does love his Lakers and L.A teams..What? That is a dog.

-Germany smashed England today 4-1. However, a trending topic is that the FIFA World Cup refs suck. They blew the US Slovenia game and England actually tied things up in this game 2-2, however the refs are so blind that they cannot see that the ball hit the top bar and bounced in and the goalie grabbed it. Wow. Also, the first goal in the Argentina- Mexico game in which Argentina won 3-1, they missed that the first goal scored by Argentina was offsides. Again, wow. Use replay refs..

-Yep, you guessed it, J.A Adande does not have anything to do with this post.

-Brazil plays Chile tomorrow also Holland plays Slovakia.

-I think Brazil will go all the way and win the World Cup.

-Finally, a spotting at the USA game was that Bill Clinton and Mick Jagger were in a box together. NO J.A, Kobe was not there.

Ghana KO’s USA

June 26, 2010

I could have sworn he was pulling for America.

Ghana beat the US today 2-1 and Alexi Lalas was not happy about it. (picture seen below). Ghana took a 1-0 lead early and had US chasing until a yellow card in the box. Donovan nailed the PK and made the game go into extra time. Sadly, Ghana scored early in extra time and the US could not recover. I will now go for Brazil. Finally, as an RD tradition, we can all say get er’ next time to the US soccer/futbol squad.

1 Year from MJ’s Death and Other Friday Notes

June 26, 2010

Isn’t this the right guy?

Ivory Coast beat North Korea 3-0. Again, North Korea just can’t get it going for them.

– Portugal and Brazil tied 0-0.

Spain beat Chile 2-1. Arriba Arriba jugar futbol bueno!!

Honduras and Switzerland tied 0-0.

– Does this have anything to do with Michael Jackson? Well, frankly, other than the one year aniversary of his passing, NO.

Apparently Michael Vick’s friend was shot at the quarterback’s “fete” last night.  Nice spelling ESPN, but I do believe that it is “feet.”

– USC appealed its ban today, to try to get the bowl probation from 2 to 1 years.  Good luck with that.

– John Isner lost today after his amazing win yesterday.

I think you meant this.

Bledsoe Goes 18, Orton 29, and Cats Set New Record

June 25, 2010

Eric Bledsoe went #18 to the Oklahoma City Thunder. This got me a little excited because the Thunder are pretty good. He would fit well there. Oh but then he gets traded to LA Clippers. They suck. However, Bledsoe will still probably play well and make himself known and also probably get more playing time. Orton went 29 to the Orlando Magic. This is big for Orton. He fits in well by being Dwight Howard’s backup and will probably learn a lot from Dwight. Finally, UK set a new record with 5 first round draft picks. I will not list out every player picked. That takes too much time. Well I am sure BD might have a nice thursday post tomorrow. Also we might actually get a good legit writer. More on everything tomorrow. For now, we can let you listen and have a good nights rest to an RD tradition, lets listen to some good ole’ Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Boogie goes #5 and Ppat Goes Lottery

June 25, 2010

He got a lot of calls before he was selected I bet.

Demarcus ‘Boogie’ Cousins goes #5. 5-14

6- Golden State- Ekpe Udoh- Baylor. The ‘K’ is silent.

7-Detroit- Greg Monroe-Georgetown. He is pretty good.

8-La Clippers- Al-Farouq Aminu- Wake Forrest. Yeah, you guessed it, he is indeed a decent from a Nigerian King.

9- Utah- Gordon Hayward- Butler. He should have gone 10 to Indiana, but Utah decided to not let that happen.

10- Indiana- Paul George- Fresno St. Ever heard of him?

11-New Orleans- Cole Aldrich-Kansas. No comment.

12- Memphis- Xavier Henry- Kansas. Za-Vee-Ay.

13- Toronto- Ed Davis- North Carolina. He isn’t very good.

14- Houston- Patrick Patterson- Kentucky. This is great. He wanted to go lottery and he did. What a legacy and a great player he is.

More on 15-30 later.

John Wall goes #1

June 24, 2010

He will be dancing in the NBA as well. Hopefully without Gilbert Arenas and with maybe LBJ or Dwade.

Wall went numero uno.  Turner…ehhh went 2 while Favors goes 3. Timberwolves select Wesley Johnson. We will have all the other picks in a large post tonight.

New Reebok Commercial With John Wall Released

June 24, 2010

Pretty Awesome…

Longest Tennis Match Ever

June 24, 2010

– The longest tennis ever occurred today, and it still hasn’t ended.  John Isner and Nicholas Mahut are currently in their 5th set, with the it tied at 59 games a piece.  The match has been going on for 10 hours including what will be 3 different days.  You have to win by two points to win the set, and neither has done so, all the way to 59.  The match will be resumed tomorrow morning, and it will hopefully end.  The old record was 6 hours 30 minutes.  They have spent over 7 hours on this one set…

– We will have the conclusion for you tomorrow as the players just haven’t caught fire yet. No pun intended….

The Wonderful Wally Williams’ Wednesday Writings

June 24, 2010

Small pic, big guy…

– Big news today as the USA defeated Algeria 1-0 to win group c and advanced to the next round, or the elimination round.  Landon Donovan’s strike in the 91st minute found the back of the net past the keeper, allowing USA to advance.  They had to win that game because England beat Slovenia 1-0 also, meaning the U.S. needed a win instead of a draw.

– The U.S. will play Ghana on Saturday in the first game of the round of 16 for both sides.

Germany beat Ghana today 1-0, allowing them to finish first in their group.

Australia beat Serbia 2-1 today.  Aussie Aussie Aussie Oye Oye Oye.

– Phil Jackson is leaning towards retirement.

– NBA draft is tomorrow night, so expect a few posts about John Wall going #1 and Demarcus Cousins going #5.

– The Marlins fired their manager.  Big news ehh?
