Start of Football Frenzy Week and a UK QB and RB Preview

August 31, 2010

Look for a WHOLE LOT of these this year…

– I am going to start the 1st annual Football Frenzy Week here on your best news source, RD.  Today, UK QB and RB preview.  Previews all week, and the traditional Tuesday pick for tomorrow will be a UK football prediction along with a plethora of other football frenzy predictions.  To put the sweet watermelon on top of it all, yes watermelon, not cherry, I will have a, yes you guessed it, Friday Roast sesh on the not-beloved dirty cards. Who’s ready? Hold on to your cowboy hats because this is going to be a fun-filled fantasy of football folks week of frenzy…

QUARTERBACKS:

Mike Hartattack is the starter for Saturday so turn on your pacemakers.  Now let’s get serious… We have depth at quarterback this year for the first time in awhile with Hartline, Newton, and Mossakowski.  Both Hartline and Newton have looked good in spring practice and they have SEC experience, so no real problems here.  I see a solid season from the quarterbacks this year, and especially in the next couple of years because of Newton and Mossakowski.  Also, Randall Cobb with run the wildcat all day, and he is unstoppable so look for a great season for the quarterbacks.

RUNNING BACKS:

No real problems here either… Of course Derrick Locke returns, so look for a 2nd team SEC honors or 3rd team for him this year, and Donald Russel had a 76 yard TD run last year, so this will be one of our best positions.  Overall the quarterbacks and and running backs are the two best positions with the exceptions to the WR’s.  Also, Randall Cobb running in the wildcat, so Mr. Everything will dominate here too.  The words RANDALL and COBB mean “Amazing, dominant, do it all, and stud” in pig latin… True story….

RD Fan of the Day Would Appreciate His Afternoon Notes

August 30, 2010

Excited for some notes?

– Today, not much going on however the one huge note is apparently Quincy ‘YoungTruth’ Miller is not considering Kentucky anymore. This really sucks considering he is extremely good and likely to commit to Louisville maybe as early as this weekend.

-Manny Ramirez is headed to be a Chicago White Sox or…wait.. be a Chicago White Sock? Well he is on the White Sox now.

– USA slipped by Brazil today in the Basketball World Championships as they won 70-68.

-Clemens lied again. Does he really not realize that everyone knows his legacy is ruined and that everyone knows you did HGH I mean really, stop trying to hide it.

– Nothing really else in sports today..So maybe something will happen tonight who knows?

Sunday Night Notes and Floats

August 29, 2010

Good Ole’ Notes and Floats for the great Sunday Night…

– Here are some good ole’ notes and floats from a busy Sunday in sports..

Matt Kuchar won the Barclays Invitational this week, the first event in the fed-ex cup. Next week, the Duetche Bank Classic.

The Bengals cut WR Antonio Bryant which they just signed 4 months ago… Now they owe him 8 million dollars… Nice choice Bengals… Nice choice. Way to just waste 8 million on someone halfway decent.

– Japan won the Little League World Series over Hawaii today showing that there more than Nissan, Wii, Computers, TVS, Robots, Cameras, GPS systems, and cellular phones.

– The U.S. basketball team won easily again today over Slovenia… HUGE shocker there… Never saw that won coming from approximatively 5 and 1/10 mile away.

– With the addition of Kyle Wiltjer, UK will clearly have the best recruiting class next year.  Here’s a link…  That’s 8 5 star recruits in two years… Some would consider that solid.

– Quincy Miller is confusing everbody..Yes everbody

Final Four: Duke, UK, Syracuse, Baylor

Yea I just added Marquette to my list.

Yess I’m still considering Louisville.

Yea if I went to Kentucky that’ll be ridiculous.  Best class eva.

– At the start he had 4 teams… Now he has 6… But then Kentucky would be best class EVA… I don’t know what to say…

– That’s all Folks

Wiltjer Picks The Cats

August 29, 2010

Kyle Wiltjer, a 5-star prospect out of Portland, Oregon has picked the Cats. He is in the 2011 class. Kentucky’s 2011 class already has 4 players that are also all 5-stars. Michael Gilchrist, Marquis Teague, Anthony Davis, and now Kyle Wiltjer.

-Hopefully BD makes a good ole’ post soon.

Saturday Morning Links

August 28, 2010

Oh wow that is a lynx on the prowl! Not links! HAHA!

Well, here are your cherished links!

Wesley Willis’ Weary Wednesday Works

August 26, 2010

Who is this guy?

BIO BLAST:

Wesley Willis is a musician and hears demons in his head.

As the fantasy draft comes to an end, BD and I are a bit weary. Hence the name, Weary Wednesday Works. Well, on to the short but very sweet notes.

-The Reds won a crazy game in San Francisco today as they were winning by a wide margin when The Giants came back. However, the Reds came back from the Giants comeback and Joey Votto stomped on The Giants by hitting a key single to tie the game up. It ended up with the Reds winning in 12 innings.

Darrelle Revis is annoying.

– I do not like the Little League World Series. It is just Japan and Chinese Taipei every year. Also the little 12 year olds that look huge for their age because of the TV are extremely cocky and the announcers are also extremely annoying. The kids are actually like 5’3 which is way shorter than even BD. Occasionally you will get a 5’10 12 year old but whatever.

That is it for the notes today. Not much happening.

This Kids Fabulous Tuesday Notes

August 25, 2010

– This stud welcomed himself to the world the other day at the Little League World Series.  He is part of the German team that qualified for the World Series, because the team was part of an american military base in Germany, so all of the players are American.  Our little guy does not only look like a stud-muffin, but plays like on two.  After watching this mini- Albert Pujols for two innings, a label came up at the bottom spelling out HOMETOWN: Lexington, Kentucky. Yes this Hoss is from our own little city.  He has only played one game, where he had one at-bat and struck out.

– An Oregon state football player was arrested and kicked off the team after walking into a strangers house drunk and naked. When the police arrived, he got down in a 3 point lineman stance and preceded to get himself stun-gunned.  This is not a joke.

– Rajon Rondo has withdrawn from the U.S. basketball team.

– Not much else going on because the lead story on ESPN is the Cardinals vs. the Pirates.

– Also, Mike Gilchrist was taken down to 3 in Rivals new list, and 5 in scouts new list, which is amazing because he is defiantly the best player in the class by far.

Vladdy Divac’s Long Time No Post Monday Night Notes

August 24, 2010

Who is this man? Hide the kids!

-Well, I am sorry we have not had a post in a while. We are quite busy on weekends and are sorry about the post shortage.

-As expected, Vladdy Divac has nothing at all to do with this post.

– Mike Hartline was named the starting QB for the cats football season this year. Bad choice Joker, from what I saw last year, he completely sucked. Maybe this year it might be a little different but who knows.

– Tiger Woods and his wife Elin with the weird last name have divorced. We knew this was coming, however, I do not really care.

– Besides this, nothing is really going on. Expect more posts later in the week.

What is a good way to get back in the RD groove? Listen to some good ole’ Cat Stevens.

Up for Most Awkward Interview Ever

August 18, 2010

Awkward….

John Wall had one of the most awkward TV interviews ever when on ESPN’s First Take with Skip (You know you just want to punch him in the mouth when he is talking because he is annoying and has no idea what he is saying) Bayless. This is a show that used to be called like Cold Pizza or something weird like that, then it was named First and 10 all while still on ESPN. Then when they realized their only viewers were the restaurants, dentist offices, etc, it is now on ESPN2. That is the station on gameday that has games on it, not too bad of a station when you want to watch that, but it is also the station that has fly fishing, poker, and WNBA. If that floats your boat then thats your story,  but this could be the most awkward interview ever. And maybe even more awkward then the one below.. Enjoy the awkwardness.

Awkward John Wall Interview…

However, does that compare to this?

Thats awesome. Oh no nevermind your leaving. Gosh make up your mind your starting to tick people off. Oh wait…No way Darnell, but Jorts said your coming back? Random Middle of UK Game Monday Post With Western Ontario Fans

August 17, 2010

GO MUSTANGS!!!

– Yes the UK game is going on right now, and we will have a post on that after the game.  Currently UK leads 17-13, after a invisible charge called on Jon Hood.  The defender did not even fall over, yet it’s a charge on Hood, and Ontario scores a bucket.  The ref must have had too much maple syrup.

– Jets-Giants tonight at 8 in the first football game in the new Meadowlands Stadium, which is actually pretty cool because they are playing each other for the opener, so it will be interesting what team will get the first win there.

– The 49ers signed Brian Westbrook, even though they already have Frank Gore.

– Lance Stephenson, the Indiana Pacers 2nd round pick, was busy slamming his girlfriends head into stairs this summer resulting in him being charged with assault.

– The NCAA is thinking about a 24 second shot clock… That would make it interesting…

Lancer fans…

Oh No….

August 16, 2010

Martin Kaymer won the PGA Championship today at Whistling Straits in Kohler, Wisconsin.  He won in a 3 hole playoff over my favorite Bubba Watson.  Although Martin Kaymer won, he was not the big story.  Dustin Johnson was leading at -12 after a huge birdie putt on the par 3 17th.  Both Kaymer and Watson were at -11, and Johnson still had to play the intimidating 18th hole, where only 1 birdie putt had been made the entire day.  Johnson hit a wild tee shot on 18 and it landed into a sand area, but it did not appear to be a bunker, because fans were standing in it, and there were footprints.  He made bogey to fall into a 3 way playoff, until a rules official told him the that sand that he was hitting out of was a bunker, not a waste area.  You are not allowed to touch the ground with your club while in a bunker, but in a waste area, you are.  Johnson grounded the club, meaning that he would have to take a 2 stroke penalty on the hole, resulting in him losing the tournament.  So, a stupid rule and decision just killed this guys career moment, and something that would make his career, if he had won in the playoff.

– Our man Jon Hood dunked tonight in the game in Windsor, as Jacob will probably have something about that, but ya he dunked.

– The Bengals won their exhibition game today since it wasn’t a playoff game.

– Andy Murray killed Roger Federer today in the Rogers Masters 7-5, 7-5.

– Kevin Harvick won the Nascar race today, and everyone is caring about this more than anything.  Only 500 of the 600 fans their today fell asleep at some point during the race. The other 100 couldn’t sleep because of the noise of the cars.

– Their was an all-star protest today at the Washington Nationals stadium.  It is planned for Arizona next year, and a few fans don’t have to papers to show for it.

-Thinking about starting a fantasy football league for RD writers and fans, so comment if you want to join.

– Oakland won a football game today… that’s a first.

UK plays tomorrow night at 7, so we will have coverage of that.
